Music at Wragby 28 th August
Some of our members enjoyed a lovely evening of chamber music at All Saints Church, Wragby given by the Copenhagen based Paizo Quartet
This group, consisting of three Danes and a Swede, had recently won a prestigious competition in Australia , and, on hearing them it was easy to see why.
Edith supplied snejle and brunekager for the interval.
Kraftskiva 3 rd September
30 members enjoyed a super evening at Jo and Mats' home.
They were treated to a feast of various seafood dishes (including crayfish) plus Swedish meatballs, all washed down with copious amounts of akvavit and beer.
The weather was good, the atmosphere was great.
We must thank Jo and Mats for their hospitality.
SKOL family walk 18 th September
There was a disappointing turnout for this walk, even though the weather was fine and warm. Those that did turn up enjoyed a nice walk in the woods before returning the Edith and Victors' house for coffee and cake.
The COSCAN Conference in Oslo 6th -10 th October
A party of 14 represented SKOL at the bi-annual conference of COSCAN in Oslo .
The AGM was held at the residence of the British ambassador, who, after the conference, hosted a reception for all delegates.
The gala dinner was held in the Grand Hotel.
A wonderful time was had by all those attending, in spite of the high cost of living in Oslo (£6 a pint)
Hostfest in Hull
On Friday 14 th October several members of SKOL enjoyed a great evening at St.Nikoli's Seaman's Church in Hull .
Good food, good wine, good company and dancing to a great trad jazz group meant that a good time was had by all.
